Jon Bon Jovi reportedly saved a woman from taking her own life when he noticed she was about to jump off a bridge.

The rock icon was in Nashville for his latest project when he stopped filming to help a woman in distress who was on the ledge of a bridge . The It's My Life singer, 62, was shooting a music video for his song People's House on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Music City at around 6pm when he spotted a woman who needed help, according to reports.

Bon Jovi and others talked to the woman and helped her come back on to the bridge, police said.

A source said: "Bon Jovi routinely deals with people in crisis from hunger to homelessness, among other issues, through the work with his foundation, the JBJ SOUL FOUNDATION."

They continued to tell TMZ: "He has extensive training in speaking with individuals experiencing a crisis... but he did what anyone would have done in that situation."

In footage released by police, a woman in blue can be seen holding on to the railing while standing on the ledge while Bon Jovi's team appears to be setting up camera equipment.

The singer walks over to the woman with someone else as his team stand further away.

Bon Jovi can be seen waving hello at her and leaning on the railing near her.

The 62-year-old rock star walks to the woman and with the help of another woman the pair get her back on to the pedestrian walkway on the bridge.

Other people then come over after the woman is safe and Bon Jovi embraces her in a hug.

Despite his busy schedule working on his eagerly-awaited new music, the rock legend had time for a significant family event. Jon spoke out for the first time since his son Jake Bongiovi married Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in a secret ceremony in May, reports the Mirror US.

Fans were shocked when it was revealed that the 20-year-old actress had quietly married her 22-year-old boyfriend Jake Bongiovi. The young couple, who started dating in 2021 and got engaged last spring, said their vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family.

The legendary musician confirmed during a chat on BBC's The One Show that he attended the small yet stunning secret marriage ceremony, praising the "absolutely fantastic" couple and their intimate wedding.

While on air, the Living on a Prayer icon spilled the beans about the low-key affair to the delighted hosts, sharing: "They're great, they are absolutely fantastic."

He went on to give insights into the nuptials, which were a quiet family event: "It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous and Jake is happy as can be, and yeah it's true."

Previously, the rockstar has spoken out in defence of Millie and Jake's whirlwind love story, drawing parallels with his own decades-long romance with wife Dorothea. Celebrating nearly 35 years of their marriage soon, Jon confessed to the Times: "It is an accelerated version of what I went through 40 years ago and I think, with the support of family around them, they're going to be great together."
