Manchester United have included Casemiro in their squad for the upcoming Europa League campaign despite the midfielder being linked with a move away.

Casemiro's future had been up in the air since United completed their deadline day move for Manuel Ugarte, with links to the Turkish Super Lig emerging. Clubs in Turkey have until September 13 to make new signings, less than a fortnight before United begin their Europa League campaign against Erik ten Hag's former club Twente.

Ten Hag has also included Christian Eriksen in the squad after the Dane was linked with a move away. Eriksen's agent confirmed the midfielder had turned down offers from outside Europe and will stay put for now.

United's manager has also given spots to two players signed during his tenure who have been out of the first-team picture. Tyrell Malacia is available in Europe after missing last season through injury, while young left-back Harry Amass is also in the squad after joining from Watford in 2023.

All of United's big-name senior summer signings are included. That means Leny Yoro will be available to play a part in the competition once he recovers from the foot injury which kept him out of the start of the Premier League season.

United have named a 25-man squad for the competition, which can be supplemented by a 'B' list of academy players including the likes of recent debutant Toby Collyer. However, Amass - who came through Watford's academy - needed to be registered in the main squad.

"A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2003 and has, since his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year," UEFA's rules read.

"Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption."

United reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League in Ten Hag's first season in charge, falling to eventual champions Sevilla. They took part in the Champions League last season, finishing bottom of a group which also contained Bayern Munich, FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

This season is the first in which the Europa League has used its new 'Swiss-style' format, with a league phase replacing the group stage. United have home matches against Twente, PAOK, Bodo/Glimt and Rangers, as well as away trips to face Porto, Fenerbahce, Viktoria Plzen and FCSB.

Manchester United Europa League squad in full: Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Dermot Mee; Harry Amass, Diogo Dalot, Matthijs De Ligt, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro; Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, Manuel Ugarte; Amad, Antony, Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee.
