A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after she was attacked by a 'number of dogs' in south Dublin this afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene of the attack at a residence in Dún Laoghaire on Thursday.

A woman who was attacked by a number of dogs was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are understood to be serious. The dogs involved in the attack are currently in the custody of the Dog Warden.

A Garda spokesperson said that investigations into the attack are ongoing.

The spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí were alerted by emergency services to an incident at a residence in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin this afternoon, Thursday 5th September 2024.

“A woman was attacked by a number of dogs. She has been taken to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are understood to be serious.

“The dogs are currently in the custody of the Dog Warden. Investigations are ongoing.”
