RTE star Miriam O'Callaghan looked stunning in red as she shared her pride for her niece on her wedding day.

The Prime Time host wore a glamorous red gown for the special occasion as she posed with her family in snaps shared on Instagram.

Miriam was all smiles in selfies with her daughters and also posted pictures of the beautiful bride, Hazel McMahon and Ferdia Breathnach.

She wrote: "I just adore weddings, especially family weddings. They are full of joy and hope and fun. We all loved just celebrating the marriage of the most beautiful couple inside and out t @hazeybabey88 and @ferdiabreathnach".

"Looking fab Miriam," one follower commented.

A second added: "You all look great, hope you had a great day and night."

While another person wrote: "Just gorgeous Miriam".

Earlier this year, Miriam ruled out retiring from broadcasting as her career continues to go from strength to strength.

The broadcaster continues to pull in a massive audience on Prime Time and her weekend Radio 1 show, and she said she's "not going anywhere soon" ahead of her 65th birthday early next year.

"I might not be doing a Barbara Walters and working into my 90s but I'm not going anywhere soon," she told the RTE Guide.

Miriam is not "staff" with RTE, she works as a contractor, meaning she is not obliged to retire on her 65th birthday, a rule that has seen Mary Kennedy, Eileen Dunne and Michael Lyster leave the station.

She said: "People rarely ask George Clooney if he is retiring and I'm not saying that you're being sexist in asking me that, but if George Clooney plans to make movies into his 80s, nobody asks him about retirement."

The Prime Time host added: "Hannah Waddingham was also recently asked a question about age and turned it on its head. It's one last bastion that people need to be pulled up on.

"I have eight children and a lot of people would have said to me, There's no way you can carry on with your career and have eight children.

"But I proved them wrong. Just saying."
