Sky Sports Golf's third-round coverage of the British Masters saw two of their pundits get into a heated exchange, with Wayne Riley and Mark Roe having some strong words for one another.

The bone of contention was the wedge play of current British Masters leader Niklas Norgaard Moller. 'Radar' Riley, the on-course commentator, was full of praise for Norgaard's powerful drives but expressed doubts about the Dane's short game throughout Saturday's round.

Meanwhile, former DP World Tour professional Mark Roe disagreed entirely with Riley's assessment and began a back-and-forth between the two.

Riley had first said: "This guy can pump it, he's seriously long. Good player, but this is what I was speaking of earlier in the day when we were on. He looks a little dodgy with the wedge shots. I hope he proves me wrong but he doesn't want to get too cute with this thing because of the slope."

He added: "He seems to de-loft it, his yardages are wrong, his distance control doesn't seem great but you can be excused hitting this 20 feet past."

At this point, Roe interjected and said: "He's not doing that, that's excellent, it's about 15 feet," before Riley responded: "Well, I was close Mark, so stop trying to correct me, I wasn't that bad."

As tensions rose between the two, Roe said: "No, no, I don't agree with you. He's a great wedge player for a big fella."

The Sky Sports Golf studio had then seemingly paused with the audio cutting out as the leaderboard appeared on the screen before they went into an advert break.

When the broadcast returned, Norgaard sunk a 15-foot birdie putt to extend his lead at the top of the leaderboard, with Davies joking: "The wedge play set that up.."

Norgaard Moller remains in a four-shot lead in first place heading into the final day of the British Masters tournament at The Belfry Course in Sutton Coldfield, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

Elsewhere, Scottie Scheffler leads by five shots at the Tour Championship, continuing in his dominant vein of form after coming into the tournament atop of the PGA Tour rankings and given a two-shot lead over Xander Schauffele in second place.
