A Premier League footballer's affair was allegedly discovered by his wife after she caught him bringing another woman home by looking at the footage from her Ring doorbell
A well-known Premier League footballer was reportedly kicked out by his wife after she discovered he had an affair via their Ring doorbell.
The footballer, who played for his country at Euro 2024 this summer, allegedly brought a woman back to his family home while his wife and children were away on holiday. The wife later received a direct message on Instagram which simply read: “I slept with your husband”.
The bombshell message reportedly arrived alongside a photo of two people in bed together, without their faces showing. Crucially, however, on the wall behind in the background was a picture of the footballer hugging his wife and children.
The wife initially brushed it off, believing it might have come from a troll and her husband denied the allegation when it was put to him, claiming the photo was edited. But she reportedly discovered the truth when reviewing video footage from their Ring doorbell, which allegedly showed her husband bringing home the woman in question.
The wife reportedly kicked the player out of the family home and ended the marriage, but to make matters worse, the story leaked among the footballers’ team-mates before the Euros. It made for an awkward tournament for the heartbroken family.
“All the players knew about it and so did a lot of their families because everyone was talking about it in Germany. Some of the players nicknamed him ‘Ringo’ and were calling him that behind his back,” a source told MailOnline. “But it’s no joke because this whole thing has caused a lot of heartache and the breakup of a family.”
The source added: “They were very happily married for a number of years. She’s a high-profile WAG and he’s one of the most recognisable faces in the Premier League. It’s quite shocking how the end of their marriage came about.”
Euro 2024 ran from June 14 to July 14 in Germany, with Spain beating England 2-1 in the final in Berlin to lift the trophy. The Premier League season kicked off last weekend, meaning a return to the limelight for the footballer in question, who has not been named.
