Jake Paul red-faced as YouTuber's nemesis shines light on Mike Tyson admission

Michael Bisping has said that Jake Paul is a "toolbag" for fighting a 58-year-old Mike Tyson who is "not that guy anymore".

The 45-year-old middleweight UFC champion-turned-commentator took to his official YouTube channel earlier this week to analyse the press conference for the highly-anticipated bout which takes place in Arlington, Texas, in November. Tyson and Paul were initially set to face off in July, but 'Iron' Mike was forced to pull out of the contest due to medical concerns.

Instead, 27-year-old Paul faced Bare Knuckle FC star Mike Perry, achieving a sixth-round TKO over his long-time foe. However, Tyson has since received the go-ahead to fight Paul, and the two will meet in the squared circle come November 15 in a lucrative Netflix live stream - the first of its kind.

There's a wealth of hype heading into the bout, with Paul racking up an impressive 10-1 record since turning pro back in 2020 - beating UFC stars like Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. Tyson, on the other hand, hasn't had a sanctioned bout since his sixth-round retirement loss to Kevin McBride back in 2005 - only returning to fight Roy Jones Jr in a six-round exhibition bout which went the distance in 2020.

However, Bisping simply isn't buying into the allure of the upcoming contest, dubbing the scrap a "joke". Taking to YouTube, he said: "We know the fight is a joke, let's be honest. Let's see if the press conference delivers - see if it can get us any more excited for this absolute s***show. This farce of a fight. I'm not very convinced it will."

During the press conference, which took place in New York, Paul was met with a chorus of boos while speaking - to which the YouTuber-turned-pugilist said: "Hey New York, you're just like Mike Tyson - you were good 20 years ago. F*** you New York," while flipping the bird towards the crowd.

And Bisping was quick to pick up on the error that Paul made by pointing out his opponent is past his glory days, explaining: "First of all, trash talk is terrible. All he can do is resort to going 'F*** you New York, f*** you New York... you're what Mike Tyson was, good 20 years ago'.

"Jake, I hate to point out the obvious, that makes you look pathetic. You just admitted that you're going up against an old man - who is a legend of course, but he's not that guy anymore." He added: "I mean come on, Jake Paul's a total... he's just a toolbag. I'm not gonna lower myself and swear.

"I mean look at him there. It's nice to see that he's finally getting booed and he's getting the kind of response that he deserves. Of course, Mike Tyson, New York, that's kind of his stomping ground. He was raised in Brooklyn so he's going to have a lot of people there, but he's a worldwide legend - and so is Jake Paul, but look at that. Finally, for once an educated crowd."

Bisping also later accused Paul of cherry-picking established fighters who are well past their prime. During the conference, Paul said: "Every time these fighters sit across from me and it's YouTuber, it's Disney Channel, all that s***. And then you end up on the f***ing canvas. You'll see, it's going to be no different here I promise you that."

To which, Bisping responded: "Well that is true. It's because you pick these opponents that are - in this case - 58 or they're way past their sell-by date, or they're smaller than you. Fighting is about challenging yourself." Anderson Silva was 47 when he fought Paul back in 2022, while Diaz was in-turn 38, Askren was 36 and coming off a hip replacement recovery, and Woodley was also 39.

The only loss that Paul has suffered in his career to date came in the form of a split decision to Tommy Fury in February last year, the brother of Tyson Fury, three years younger than Paul and with a four-inch reach advantage which he utilised throughout the fight.
