Months after announcing she was leaving her hosting duties on This Morning behind, Holly Willoughby has been announced to front a new show with Stephen Mulhern for ITV.

Holly Willoughby has taken on a new role, ready to star in a new project with Stephen Mulhern on ITV.

The former This Morning star is set to return to ITV, months after leaving the breakfast programme in October 2023, for two primetime specials of the iconic challenge show You Bet!, set to air later this year.

Members of the public will use their unique abilities to pull off the most outrageous challenges imaginable, all for the chance of winning a big cash prize.

A panel of celebrities and the studio audience will have to predict if each challenger can complete the extraordinary challenge with which they are faced. Celebrity contestants will earn points with a correct guess with a little insight from the studio audience.

At the end of the show, the studio audience vote for their favourite challenger who takes home a cool £10,000. The celebrity with the highest score wins £10k for their chosen charity, while the celebrity with the lowest score takes on the entertaining final forfeit.

Speaking of her upcoming presenting role, Holly said: "I’m so excited to be part of this iconic game show with the fabulous Stephen Mulhern. I’m looking forward to seeing the astonishing skills on show from the challengers and which of our celebrity panellists can come out on top."

Stephen Mulhern shared his own enthusiasm ahead of their big project: "I loved You Bet! as a kid, so I’m very excited to be hosting this with the wonderful Holly Willoughby. From the big and spectacular to the unique and unexpected, I can’t wait to see what extraordinary skills the challengers have up their sleeves."

This comes after Holly Willoughby decided to step away from the spotlight in the wake of Gavin Plumb's arrest, which led to the 37-year-old's conviction for soliciting murder and inciting rape and kidnap.

In recent months, Holly was reported to be making a progressive return to the limelight as she was signed up to join Bear Grylls on a new show for Netflix, having to jet off to Costa Rica with a group of celebrities.

But with Costa Rica experiencing a murder rate jump to 17.2 per 100,000 people in 2023 from 11.7 in 2018, according to Reuters, Netflix bosses took no chances as the platform is said to be "investing huge sums" to guarantee the success of its next project but the priority remains keeping the 43-year-old - and the rest of the cast members - safe from harm.
