Stephanie Meadow gets her third Olympic campaign underway this week to improve her seventh-place finish from Tokyo 2020.

Meadow and fellow countrywoman Leona Maguire have represented Ireland at the previous two Olympics, including the inaugural tournament in Rio 2016 where Meadow finished 31st.

The 32-year-old has two professional wins to her name thus far, with her last win coming in the 2018 IOA Championship. Her best performances in Majors are finishing third in her professional debut at the Women's US Open at Pinehurst in 2014, and a tied-for third-place finish at the Women's PGA Championship in 2023.

Meadow is currently ranked 150th in the Rolex Rankings. She achieved her highest-ever position in the Women's World Golf Rankings at 82 in 2014.

She first started playing golf at age seven at Ballyclare Golf Club, before becoming a member of Royal Portrush. Meadow swapped Antrim for Alabama when she began playing golf for the University of Alabama. In the amateur phase of her career, she became the college's first four-time first-team All-American and won nine career tournaments, three times more wins than any man or woman in the history of the Crimson Tide.

She represented Britain and Ireland twice at the Curtis Cup. At the 2012 edition of the tournament, GB&I would overturn a deficit on the final day to come back and defeat America, snapping USA's seven-tournament winning streak. Meadow played a crucial role In the victory, as she would play in the penultimate match of the final round and would have the honour of clinching the Cup with a 4&2 win as the last person left on the course.

Meadow is an only child to parents Robert and Louise. Meadow’s father Robert passed away in 2015 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, two years before she was introduced to former professional golfer Kyle Kallen through a friend who used to caddy for her. Residing now in Phoenix, Arizona, Stephanie and Kyle were married in 2023.

Meadow gets her Olympics underway when she tees off as part of the first grouping at 8:00 am with France's Perrine Delacour and Belgium’s Manon de Roey.
