In his eagerly anticipated new biography Catherine, The Princess of Wales, author Robert Jobson sheds some light on the Wales family's private life behind palace doors - including Prince William's row with the late Queen Elizabeth II.

It's been reported the Queen and her 'stubborn' grandson were at odds over a defiant act concerning William's wife Kate, and their three young children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, six. The Royal family was reportedly left divided over this contentious issue and the late Queen, who rarely made her opinions known in public, 'did not hold back' when it came to telling William exactly what she thought.

In an extract of the upcoming book, which has been serialised in the Mail, royal correspondent Jobson detailed how Prince William entered into a heated disagreement with his grandmother after his father, the now King Charles III, raised concerns over a sensitive safeguarding issue. Jobson wrote: "One recent source of disagreement is William's stubborn refusal to take his father's advice on safeguarding the succession. Earlier this year, the King had raised concerns with his son about the wisdom of William using his helicopter to fly his entire family around the country.

In this file photo taken on May 20, 2019 Britain's Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (R) shows Britain's Queen Elizabeth II (L) and Britain's Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, around the 'Back to Nature Garden' garden, that she designed along with Andree Davies and Adam White, during their visit to the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London.
Queen Elizabeth II made her thoughts on the matter crystal clear

"An experienced pilot, William had upset the late Queen when he defied her request not to pilot his family the 115 miles from Kensington Palace to Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk. The Queen, haunted by the 1967 crash that killed the Captain of the Queen's Flight (although no royals were on board), 'did not hold back', one aide said."

The explosive biography, which you can buy from August 1 is described as a 'revelatory' book which 'tells the full story of how Catherine, the Princess of Wales, became the woman she is today, offering a deeper insight into the 'modern-day fairytale' that has gripped the nation.

According to the biography description: "Her self-deprecation, willingness to laugh at herself, solid work ethic - along with her husband, William, warmth, and accessibility - this Royal Family's dynamic duo have become the most popular members of the Royal Family. But it's not come without its fair share of commentary and scandal, particularly with recent revelations on the relationship of the 'Fab Four' with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as her own health scares."

You can currently pre-order a hardcover copy of Catherine, the Princess of Wales for £15 on Amazon.
