Joey Essex's famous family entered the Love Island villa as Ayo Odukoya was given a warning in the long-awaited meet the parents episode.
Joey has faced criticism from Love Island fans, who have accused him of leading Jessy Potts on as they claim he still has feelings for ex-girlfriend Grace Jackson. Joey and Jessy have managed to stay together despite challenges, including Casa Amor, but viewers were frustrated as the former The Only Way Is Essex star seemed to always focus on Grace and her true feelings for him.
As his family entered the villa, Joey was overcome with emotion, and hugged his sister Frankie and Nanny Linda as they reassured him he was doing well. “Honestly Joe, you’re doing so well, mummy would be so proud of you. Honestly, daddy said he loves you so much and he misses you,” Frankie told her brother, as Joey opened up on his true feelings for Jessy. But will he mention Grace?

Jessy’s family, including dad Matthew and mum Julie, also rocked up to the villa to meet with her new boyfriend, leaving fans desperate to know if her parents have clocked that something isn’t quite right with Joey and Jessy’s relationship. Meanwhile, the other Islanders were treated to visit from their loved ones, with Ayo over the moon to see his brother Bolaji and sister Simi.
Ayo ran into his brothers arms in emotional scenes in the villa, but his happiness was soon quashed when Bolaji asked him about his relationship with Jess. “My only little concern with Jess is the constant reassurance…” he said to Ayo, leaving fans concerned over the couple’s future.
First to be reunited with their family and friends was Sean and Matilda, and he was given a dressing down from his mum and sister over his antics in Casa Amor. “What was that about?! And you’ve got a gorgeous girl, why would you jeopardise that?!” his mum Charlotte fumed.
Sean joked her was feeling scared when Matilda's sisters Kenzie and Cadah weighed in on the family row, as they scolded him for hurting their sister. “We did want to put you in a headlock though! After Casa you’re allowed one f*ck up and that’s it!” they fired. “I’m scared!” Sean replied, prompting the sisters to shout: “You should be!”
