Virgin Media weatherman Deric Hartigan announces major move in station schedule shake-up
The former Ireland AM star is temporarily switching up his daytime schedule.
Virgin Media’s weather presenter Deric Hartigan has announced he has moved to the Six O’Clock Show – joking that he is looking forward to “lie ones”.
The former Ireland AM star is switching up his daytime schedule to host the afternoon show for two weeks. Sharing the news on Instagram, Deric revealed he would be stepping in to present The Six O’Clock Show alongside Katja Mia.
Katja’s usual co-host Brian Dowling is currently on paternity leave and is being replaced by a rotation of guest presenters over the next few months.
Darren Kennedy had been previously hosting the show with her, and now Deric is set to take his place.

Sharing a photo of him on The Six O’Clock Show couch, Deric wrote: “From breakfast to teatime TV! Moving to @sixoclockshow to anchor with Katja & crew for the next 2 weeks starting this Monday 22nd July so looking forward to the new challenge & the long lie in!! .”
Katja wrote under the post: “Buzzing to present with u again. let’s do this!!”
