Sean Hurson has been appointed to referee the Galway-Armagh All-Ireland football final on Sunday week.

The Galbally Pearses clubman has taken charge of four games already in this year’s Championship, including the group stage game between Galway and Armagh, which ended in a draw, and the final will be his 34th senior Championship game in all since first joining the panel in 2016.

His umpires on the day will be Martin Coney and Cathal Forbes both from the Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa club, Mel Taggart from Clonoe O’Rahilly’s and Shane Dorrity from Coalisland Na Fianna.

His linesmen will be Kildare’s Brendan Cawley, who will double up as standby referee, and Roscommon’s Paddy Neilan, while the sideline official will be Derek O’Mahony from Tipperary.
