Joe Rogan embarrasses himself with incorrect Conor McGregor claim
Joe Rogan incorrectly claimed that Max Holloway's first fight in the UFC was against Conor McGregor.
Joe Rogan had an awkward exchange with his producer, Jamie Vernon, regarding Conor McGregor during a recent episode of his podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience.'
During a lengthy chat with guest Quinton "Rampage" Jackson about Max Holloway's recent knockout win against Justin Gaethje, Rogan's memory failed him as he claimed Holloway's first ever UFC fight came against McGregor.
"I think so," Rogan continued, before asking Vernon to look up Holloway's career statistics. Vernon then corrected Rogan, stating that Holloway's first fight was against Dustin Poirier.

"Oh that's right, he got arm-barred against Dustin," Rogan recalled. "Dustin got him in an arm bar and then his second fight was Conor, correct? " Vernon clarified that Holloway's fight with McGregor was actually the sixth of his UFC career and his second straight loss to bring his early record to 3-3, at the time, reports the Express US.
"Really? No ----" a shocked Rogan responded. "Wow, he had so many fights man, isn't that crazy? ".
The scrap that's got everyone talking took place in August 2013. Holloway, coming off a defeat to Dennis Bermudez, faced McGregor in the featherweight division, aiming to climb the ranks but ended up on the losing side of a unanimous decision after three rounds.
Holloway then went on an impressive winning spree from January 2014 to December 2018, notching up 13 consecutive victories. He triumphed over top fighters like Brian Ortega, Jose Aldo (twice), and Charles Oliveira during this period.
Joe Rogan didn't just chat about Holloway and McGregor's paths in the sport; he also cleared the air with Jackson. The pair had a notorious spat, but it seems they've patched things up on Rogan's show.
Rogan offered an olive branch to Jackson, addressing past comments about his fighting style in the UFC. "You got mad at me once, but I wanted you to throw more 'cos your leg kicks are devastating," Rogan explained, revealing why he'd been critical of Jackson before.
"I would see when you would hit guys with leg kicks. I was, like, 'Damn, I wish Quinton would throw more leg kicks.'".
Rogan continued: "I - just when I'm looking at you, I'm not thinking of you as a human being when you're fighting. I know you're a human being, but I'm looking at, I'm analyzing movements and what I think a guy can do to be more successful. I don't mean, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
Jackson cleared up the situation from his end, explaining that he accepted the apology and there was no harm to his feelings - the anger towards social media was simply redirected at Rogan. Jackson stated: "You didn't hurt my feelings - it was nothing that you said. I'm, I'm going to clear it up for you right now," and continued with: "It wasn't nothing you said; it's the ------- fans. They all come - when you said it, you kept saying it, they all come to me on my social media, ever since social media."
