Remand for burglary and drugs

A 31-year-old man was remanded for three days on Tuesday by the Famagusta district court for a burglary and illegal possession of drugs.

He was reported to have been stealing from a warehouse on Monday, and when police got there at about 1pm was seen holding two bags.

Further investigations showed that inside the bag were various burglary tools, a refrigerator compressor and other electrical components. Police also found a small quantity of drugs.

According to the owner of the premises, his warehouse was broken into between December 28 and 30, and the perpetrators allegedly stole two refrigerator compressors, three air conditioning mechanisms and other electrical components.
