Paphos district court on Friday handed down suspended prison sentences to two people found guilty of stealing from churches in the district.

According to police, three people, all permanent residents of Paphos, were charged but only two were found guilty and sentenced on Friday.

The third person is due back in court on January 14.

The two convicted were given sentences of two and a half years suspended for three years.
