Infrastructure Malta today filed a police report to investigate and take action in relation to the heavy and unauthorised pruning of trees in Vjal l-Indipendenza, Mosta.

In a post on Facebook, the agency said that it received no request for this work nor has it given any permissions for such works to be carried out.

Earlier, Mosta local council had publicly stated that it had not authorised the work. "We would like to inform the public that this work was not done by the Council. Vjal Indipendenza does not fall under the remit of the Council. As soon as a report came in we took action by informing ERA and informing the community police. An investigation by the police is currently underway."
