A man and a woman were grievously injured in separate traffic accidents on Wednesday, the police said Thursday.

The first accident took place in Sant’Antnin Road, Marsascala at 3pm.

The police said an 80-year-old man, resident in the locality, was hit by a Peugeot Tweet driven by another 80-year-old man, resident in Paola.

The second accident took place in Fejgel Street, Rabat, at 9pm.

A 65-year-old woman of Rabat was hit by a Toyota Ractis driven by a 76-year-old man, also of Rabat.

The two pedestrians were taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
