Police arrest man who allegedl

The police have arrested a man who allegedly attacked a woman with a broken glass bottle, the police said on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, a woman had been injured on the rocks near Triq il-Wilġa, St Julian's. While a 25-year-old Colombian woman who resides in Sliema was with another person, an unknown man approached her and a commotion arose.

The police said that at this point the man swung a broken bottle and the woman suffered a number of injuries.

In another statement on Wednesday evening, the police said officers noticed a man who fit the description of the alleged aggressor in Pembroke at 8pm.

The man, also of Colombian nationality, was arrested and is being held for questioning.
