Meloni hails 'very encouraging

Premier Giorgia Meloni on Thursday expressed satisfaction at positive jobs data released by national statistics agency Istat, saying the figures vindicated the government's policies.
    "The data Istat released today for the third quarter of 2024 confirm the good performance of the labour market," Meloni said.
    "The employment rate is still growing, rising to 62.4%, and the reduction of the unemployment rate has continued, at 6.1%, a decrease of 0.6% compared to the previous quarter.
    "These figures are a very encouraging sign. Supporting businesses that create jobs and wealth is the road we have taken and will continue to take, because it is the right one to get Italy moving again and to be competitive".
