Giulia's memory was 'humiliated' says Cecchettin
Giulia's memory was 'humiliate

The father of Giulia Cecchettin, a university student whose brutal murder by her ex boyfriend Filippo Turetta shocked Italy last year and led to a reckoning with the rise of gender-based violence and femicide, on Wednesday said his daughter's memory had been "humiliated" when Turetta's defence attorney said Tuesday the young man did not deserve life imprisonment since he was "not Pablo Escobar".
"Yesterday I felt offended again and Giulia's memory was humiliated", said Gino Cecchettin.
"The defense of a defendant is an inviolable right", he said in a Facebook post adding however "I believe it is important to stay within a limit that is dictated by common sense and human respect".
Escobar was a Colombian drug lord.
