Number of nurses also particularly low says CNEL
Italy has fewer GPs than its main EU
partners, the National Economy and Labour Council (CNEL) said
Saturday.
Italy has 68.1 general practitioners per 100,000 inhabitants
against 72.8 family doctors per 100,000 residents in France,
94.4 in Spain and 96.6 in Germany, said the CNEL.
The number of nurses is also particularly low in Italy with
621.3 per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 633.9 in Spain, 858.1
in France and 1,203.2 in Germany, said the council in its annual
report on the civil service.
