The grandparents of a 17-year-old boy who has confessed to killing his father, mother and 12-year-old brother near Milan at the weekend feel "compassion" for him and the family is "rallying around him", investigative sources said Monday.
The grandparents of the boy who allegedly slaughtered his family at Paderno Dugnano, in the Milan area, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, have expressed "great sorrow and compassion for him," the sources said.
They are also reportedly willing to meet him, although this will not be possible before a hearing to validate his arrest warrant.
The investigators explained at a press conference that "the family is rallying around him" and clarified that the boy, after his first version of events blaming his father, decided to confess after talking to "family members and his lawyer".
