'Don't step up clashes' - Tajani tells Iran, Israel
'Don't step up clashes' - Taja

Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Thursday launched an appeal to Iran and Israel to "not increase clashes and to reduce a conflict which cannot become a regional war".
Speaking to State broadcaster RAI radio on the sidelines of the cultural 'Mediterranean' event in Sabaudia near Rome, Tajani said on this issue "there is the commitment of the G7 and many countries, including Arab ones, with whom we share a political vision for stability in the Middle East".
Italy hopes "that as soon as possible a ceasefire can be reached in the Gaza Strip, that is the key element for a de-escalation, and we will see what Iran's reaction will be after the attacks that led to the death of the leader of Hamas.
"I think a reaction will be unavoidable", the minister went on to say, expressing the hope there will be "no victims and that this phase will then end".
"The whole Arab world - Qatar, Egypt, Jordan... can be an interlocutor of both sides and also of Iran to try to reach a positive solution", stressed Tajani.
"The objective, which is of two States for two peoples, is not easy but we must not forego to commit to reach the optimal result", he concluded.
