Andrew Porter's wife Elaine has told of her joy as the couple prepare to welcome a baby boy later this year.

Elaine said the couple "cannot wait" to meet their little boy in a few months as she sent love to people who have struggled with pregnancy.

Sharing a photo of herself and the rugby star holding photos from a baby scan, she wrote: "Halfway there baby boy.

"2024 was a rollercoaster of a year after 2 miscarriages, but we are starting 2025 with the biggest blessing and cannot wait to meet him in a few months time.

"Sending love to anyone who has struggled with pregnancy at any stage, you’re not alone."

Leinster star Porter last year praised his wife for being "so open" about their heartbreak as he took to social media to tell how proud of her he was.

He commented: "So proud of my wife @elainecporter for being so open about our recent miscarriage. Her braveness and strength through these tough last few weeks has astounded me.

"Not something I would usually share on this platform about our private life. But as we now know it is something very common and affects so many people.

"Certain life events like this are distressing and can have huge toll on mental health. But we are staying positive for what lies ahead in our future together.

"For anyone else going through this, remember you are not alone and things will get better."
