TGL: Format, rules, prize money, teams and more for Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods' new venture
The indoor golf league launched by Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods kicks off on Tuesday.
A new era for golf kicks off on Wednesday when the TGL indoor golf league fronted by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy gets under way.
The league, which was founded by the two golfing megastars, was due to launch in 2024. However, damage to the indoor facility caused by a storm forced the launch date to be postponed by a year.
The action gets under way in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and Sky TV customers will be able to watch the action live after the broadcaster agreed a two-year deal to show TGL.

There'll be plenty of Irish interest from the get-go, as Shane Lowry will take part in the opening match as part of 'The Bay Golf Club' team alongside Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark.
The So-Fi Centre in Florida will host proceedings for what is sure to be a unique event unlike anything seen in golf before.
Here's a breakdown of the rules and a look at the format for TGL:
Teams
There are six teams in total, each consisting of three PGA Tour players.
These six teams will face off against each other throughout the season. They will accrue points for winning games.
Format
The matches are played over 15 holes specifically designed for the event. 30 holes have been designed, with a random 15 being used each night. Each match will take approximately two hours to play.
Every hole begins with a player hitting their tee shot into a gigantic 64ftx53ft, state of the art simulator screen.
Depending on where their tee shots go, players will then play their approach shots from areas with real grass, fairway, rough and sand into the screen.
Once they get within 50 yards, the players move to a short game area where they will finish out the hole in the traditional manner.
The short game area changes for every hole, giving players a unique perspective each time.
Rules
There is a 40-second shot clock for each shot. If a player exceeds 40 seconds, their team will receive a one-shot punishment.
Rules officials and a referee will be on hand to deal with any contentious issues.
Each hole is worth one point. If a team drops 'The hammer' the hole will then become worth two points.
If the game is tied at the end of 15 holes, a 3v3 closest to the pin challenge will take place to determine the winner.
