The East Wall road remains closed this morning between the North Strand Road and Alfie Byrne Road to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions have been put in place for motorists.
Gardai have now issued an appeal for any witnesses to the collision, particularly those who may have dash-cam footage of the area around the time of the accident, to make contact with authorities.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: "Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
