Everton prepare for post Seamus Coleman era by targeting exciting young full-back
Ireland defender Seamus Coleman still has a big role to play at Everton, but at 36 he is in the latter stages of his career.
Everton are preparing for the inevitable - life without Seamus Coleman - by setting their sights on one of European football’s most exciting young full-backs.
Denmark international Elias Jelert is on top of their wishlist and the Toffees could make a move this month for the 21-year-old.
His current club Galatasaray are believed to be ready to listen to offers of around €10m for the two-time capped Dane, who joined from Copenhagen last summer.

The Toffees could do with immediately bolstering the right-back department, with both Coleman and Ashley Young missing out recently through injury.
Coleman made only his second Premier League start of the season in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City on St Stephen’s Day - and enjoyed a productive afternoon.
Videos of his remarks to Erling Haaland, as the City star prepared to take a penalty, went viral after the Norway international’s spot-kick was saved.
However, Everton boss Sean Dyche revealed that the Ireland legend suffered a “very minor” strain after that performance, which ruled him out of their subsequent games against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
Jelert has made 22 appearances this season for Galatasaray, scoring in their 2-2 Europa League draw against Malmo.
