Olympic hero Rhys McClenaghan is set for a drastic career change as he swaps the pommel horse for the dance floor as he makes his Dancing with the Stars debut on Sunday evening.
After striking gold in Paris last summer, McClenaghan is now using his time to go on a new venture as he takes part in the hit RTE series.
He will be joined by other top celebs such as fellow Olympian Jack Woolley and singer Mickey Joe Harte.

And Rhys will no doubt have the support of partner Emilee over the coming weeks. Here is everything you need to know about their relationship and his career.
Who is Rhys's partner?
Rhys and partner Emilee are teenage sweethearts and have been in a serious relationship for the last five years. The pair dated during their teens before going their separate ways but rekindled their romance in 2020.
Emilee is a gymnastics coach and the pair recently went travelling together to Asia.
Speaking to RSVP, Rhys said of their trip: "It was the trip of a lifetime. I love spending time with Emilee.
"It was a long trip, but it was always in my plans. I said I wanted to have a big long break after the Olympics.
"I wasn’t able to do that after Tokyo 2021 because of the delay due to Covid, and the World Championships were in the same year.
"I didn’t get the break that I wanted. I took the opportunity this time around and it felt like a trip well earned following the gold medal."
He also revealed that the pair recently purchased their first home. They Olympic gold medal winner says renovations are still underway so they haven't moved in yet but the move is imminent.
I’m not in my new house yet, but it’s nearly there. I’ll be doing final touches during Dancing With The Stars.
"I’ll be based in Dublin for the duration of the show and the new house is up North. When the show finishes I’ll be moving into the property, which will be nice.
"It’s been a long process, it’s been over two years of renovations with my dad. Emilee and I are raring to move in."
Gymnastics Career
After an illustrious Junior career, expectations began to surround Down native Rhys after he snatched European gold in 2018 as well as in the Commonwealth Games.
With Ireland's Gymastics scene far from strong, it looked like they had their first true star when Rhys managed a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2019 and was considered a medal contender at the Tokyo Olympics.
Fast forward to 2021 and McClenaghan suffered Olympic heartbreaking, making a mistake and dismounting in the Pommel Horse final ruling himself out of contention.
However, it proved to be a massive learning point for the gymnast winning world gold in 2022 and 2023 as well as scooping the RTE Sportsperson of the Year award in 2023 as well.
Now 25, Rhys put in a career best performance at the Paris Olympics to win gold and cap off an incredible career.
