YouTuber Gib teases immediate future plans after Slim boxing fight
The YouTuber-turned-boxer will be looking to settle the score on Thursday night against Slim and has recently revealed what the future holds for him after their clash
AnEsonGib has teased he may be done with the influencer boxing scene after his upcoming showdown with long-time rival Slim.
The pair are scheduled to go toe-to-toe in Qatar on Thursday night in what promises to be a blockbuster event. Ahead of the contest, Slim has been quick to initiate the trash talk with his upcoming rival. However, Gib has insisted he has no animosity towards the American. “To me, there’s no rivalry," he told Mirror Fighting .
"There’s just me having my career and I could see that he’s another fighter that was maybe envious. That’s the way I see it, but it’s a good clash of styles. We’ve both been doing it for seven years. So, we’re going to see who has learnt the most and I’m going to show him what I’ve learnt over these seven years."
The opportunity to headline 'The Supercard' on Thursday night is something that very much excites Gib. “I’m just genuinely excited that the fight is happening in Doha, in Qatar," he continued. "As a fighter, without the card being fully announced, things looked a bit eary. But, you know what, I’m just excited that the fight is going ahead and I’m excited to put on a show.”
While the Misfits boxing scene continues to grow, Gib has potentially teased that the fight on Thursday night may very well be the last night fans see him inside the ring. “It’s not about headlining the show, I’m just excited that I’m fighting in Qatar. That’s the main thing! I’m excited that I’m fighting in a new country, a new place. I’m excited that I’m fighting the best from Misfits, and once I’ve beat the best, I’m done with the rest.”
He added: "This roster is dry. It is so dry! Give me exciting names and exciting dance partners because they said Slim was the most exciting dance partner and he is so boring. He has been boring as expected, but I’m going to make It up by making it entertaining as hell and beating the s*** out of him."
While Gib was a little reluctant to give his game plan away, he hopes to take away Slim's 'holes' and eventually secure a jaw-dropping finish. "I can see the holes. It’s not about taking those holes, it’s about taking what he’s good at," he said. "So, we’re going to take away all the aspects from him: what he’s good, what he doesn’t like, what he does like, we’re going to take all those things away from him… and expose him not subtly.
The YouTube star added: "I see myself stopping him so that’s what we’re coming here to do. I think he is too small and frail to handle the shots. We’ll see how his skills have adapted since his last fight, but I see myself stopping him!”
