Western Digital drops new storage solutions for gamers, photographers and videographers
With a focus on speed, durability, and capacity, these new storage drives are built for a variety of data demands
Western Digital has introduced a range of new storage products under its SanDisk and WD_BLACK brands.
The firm said the new products are aimed at the needs of professionals such as photographers and videographers along with gamers and everyday users.
And whether it's a new boot drive for your laptop, a second internal SSD for your desktop or a small USB Flash drive you can use to keep files in your pocket, the perennial issue with computing i that you always need more storage devices.

SanDisk Extreme PRO with USB4 - 2TB
This high-performance SanDisk Extreme PRO with USB4 - 2TB external storage SSD comes with with up to 3800 MB/s read speeds and up to 3700MB/s write speeds. This means users will have access to incredibly fast file transfers that keep their workflows moving, along with instant access to content and smooth 3D rendering. The drive features a rugged silicone shell and forged aluminium chassis to help protect data from everyday wear and tear, allowing users to seamlessly access files without compromising reliability. It is IP65-rated for water and dust resistance so it can withstand splashes, rain and even spills. It is also drop-protected up to three metres. The drive is also backwards compatible with USB 3.2 and USB 2.0 devices and supports Thunderbolt 4.

For those who need even more capacity, the SanDisk Extreme 8TB Portable SSD combines speed and storage in a compact design. It offers read speeds of up to 1,050MB/s and write speeds of up to 1,000MB/s.. This means it is suitable for managing large files or content libraries.
WD_BLACK SN7100 NVMe SSD
WD_BLACK is aimed at gamers and the line has two new products designed to boost performance and storage capabilities. The WD_BLACK SN7100 NVMe SSD is a PCIe Gen 4x4 drive delivering read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,900MB/s on its 1TB and 2TB models. Designed for laptops and handheld gaming devices, it also boasts an endurance rating of up to 1,200TBW and improved power efficiency over previous models.
You can buy WD_BLACK SN7100 NVMe SSD from SanDisk from €69.99 for the 500GB version and €165.99 for the 2TB version.
2TB WD_BLACK C50 Storage Expansion Card for Xbox
Aimed squarely at Xbox users, the WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card provides 2TB of additional storage that is super useful now that more games than ever are exceeding 100GB in size. This officially licensed drive integrates with Xbox Velocity Architecture and Quick Resume, offering seamless performance similar to the console’s internal storage. The C50 comes with a one-month Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
