Ireland Under-21 star hailed after breath-taking cameo rescues point for Millwall
Aidomo Emakhu came off the bench in the 90th minute and set up Femi Azeez for the equaliser against Sunderland.
Ireland Under-21 striker Aidomo Emakhu has been praised for his outstanding late contribution as Millwall secured an injury-time point away to Sunderland on Saturday.
The Dubliner was sprung from the bench as the Lions, trailing to Ireland forward Aaron Connolly’s first Black Cats goal, chased an equaliser.
And it was the former Shamrock Rovers prospect's brilliant run that teed up Femi Azeez for a 93rd minute equaliser.

Having initially picked up the ball on the left touchline, midway inside his own half, Emakhu was chopped down but got straight back to his feet again as play went on, and sprinted ahead of the ball.
By the time he received it again he was midway inside the Sunderland half, but there was still plenty of work left to do as he had three defenders in close pursuit.
Emakhu’s determination and pace got him into the box, where he sent a low ball across the six yard box and to the back post, where Azeez squeezed his show between the upright and goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.
You can see Emakhu’s assist, which came just seconds after Sunderland squandered a glorious chance to double their lead, here.
Millwall boss Neil Harris hailed the impact of his super subs, saying: “All the subs contributed when they came on.
“It’s not easy for Aidomo to come on in the 90th minute, to try and make an impact in the last five minutes.
“I just felt throw caution to the wind and that we had to get more bodies on their last line (and) overload.
“Get the wing-backs to get the wrong side of their full-backs etcetera. It came off a transition but it proved a vital moment for us.”
Millwall fans were also quick to praise Emakhu, with several glowing posts appearing on social media after his heroic contribution.
“Not many players would get straight back up after getting wiped out - Emakhu straight up and running forward. What a boy,” wrote one.
Another posted: “Great team goal and I love the determination by Emakhu to get up off the floor after being taken out off the ball on the touchline.”
Other comments included: “Brilliant play by Aidomo Emakhu deep into stoppage-time to set up the equaliser.”
“Battling by Emakhu gets down gets up - runs, gets stuck in - runs. Lads hungry.”
“Give that man Emakhu minutes, absolute scenes”
“Emakhu needs a run of games. We are mad keeping him warming the bench every week. Should definitely get a start at some point. Only forward with outstanding pace.”
