NCT inspectors shocked to discover 'mischievous' critter hiding underneath car during test
The discovery was not what inspectors were expecting to find as they carried out a routine test recently
NCT inspectors made a surprising discovery as they carried out a routine test on a car recently.
As they were inspecting a car which had been brought into an NCT test centre, inspectors were left bemused after they spotted a 'mischievous' otter staring back at them from the vehicle's underbody.
NCT officials shared a video of the "otterly unexpected" encounter on the official NCT Facebook page, and revealed that the animal was safely returned to its owner - although the vehicle will have to return to the NCT centre after failing the test.

"Our NCT testers were startled by a mischievous otter chillin' in the underbody of a customer's vehicle!" they wrote.
"No worries—he's back home safe and the vehicle failed on headlights. The otter didn't return for the retest"
The discovery of the mischievous critter comes just days after NCT officials issued a warning to motorists over a major, often hidden, reason that could see inspectors refuse to test your car outright.
In a recent social media post, the NCT service revealed that arriving to a test centre with a dirty underbody could see you car being refused a test.
NCT officials shared a video of the underbody of a vehicle which was recently taking into the a test centre caked in mud and dirt as they issued a warning to others.
"Even with glasses, you can't miss a dirty underbody! NCT testers play a vital role in keeping our roads safe. Don't let a dirty car get in the way of having your NCT," they said.
"This vehicle owner was asked to get the underbody of the vehicle cleaned and then return to have it tested."
