Ireland fans fume as 'clear penalty' not given in first half of England defeat
Many fans felt the Boys in Green should have been awarded at least one penalty in the first-half.
Ireland fans can't believe that their side weren't awarded a penalty in the first-half of this evening's UEFA Nations League contest at Wembley.
A second-half blitz following Liam Scales' red card saw the Three Lions ultimately run out 5-0 winners, but the Boys in Green played excellently in the first-half and caused their opponents plenty of problems with their direct play.
And many believe they should have been awarded a penalty when Evan Ferguson was dragged to the ground by Marc Guehi with the score 0-0.

Ferguson raced onto a long-ball from Dara O'Shea before being dragged to the ground inside the box by the Crystal Palace defender.
The referee waved away appeals and despite replays showing that Guehi had a clear handful of Ferguson's shirt, VAR opted not to intervene.
Many Irish fans were left fuming at the decision and took to social media to express their outrage.
"How is that not a penalty?" wrote one fan on X.
"Clear penalty for me," posted another.
Another fan said: "Where is VAR? Definitely a penalty."
"I still can’t believe that wasn’t given as a penalty" said another.
"Very strange decision. It would have definitely been given at the other end" posted another fan, with one more writing "A massive mistake."
Former Ireland striker Noel Hunt echoed the sentiments of the fans above, taking to Twitter/X to post "Is that not worth a look for a penalty?" before posting a short while later: "At least one of them is a penalty or both of them are!! If we’re being honest we have all seen them given! But it’s a good game for the neutral."
In the end, the only penalty awarded went to England at the beginning of the second period. Liam Scales was sent off for clipping Jude Bellingham with the goal gaping, and from that point on, England showed no mercy.
