Katie Taylor's decision win over Amanda Serrano has caused a split reaction online

Katie Taylor’s fight with Amanda Serrano caused quite a stir online after Taylor was awarded the win on points in Texas.
The Bray Bomber reclaimed her WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF, IBO and Ring Magazine super-lightweight world titles following her second win over Serrano.
Some judged it a controversial decision with boos ringing around the AT&T Stadium in Texas after the judges scored the bout 95-94 her way.
Many fans online felt that Serrano should have won the fight with the Puerto Rican fighter also accusing Taylor of an intentional headbutt that saw her cut open under her eyebrow.
Serrano said afterwards: “I knew it if went to the judges it was going to be a little shady. I chose to be great. I went up three divisions. It is what it is. I’m a featherweight, man.
“She kept headbutting me. It’s what she does. It’s not just my fight, it’s all her fights. It’s what she does.”
The unified featherweight champion's trainer Jordan Maldonado echoed her comments, stating: “She’s so dirty, she leads with her head man, she’s such a nice person outside [the ring] but when she goes in there, she’s so dirty.”
One fan online commented: “Amanda Serrano threw more punches than Taylor… landed more punches than Taylor… AND Taylor had a point deducted for headbutting… and Taylor won by unanimous decision… this is why Boxing is broken”
Another said: “SERRANO LANDED MORE PUNCHES AND WAS MORE ACCURATE !! AND TAYLOR LOST A POINT !!! AND SOMEHOW SERRANO LOST ?!!!!!! BULLS*** !!!!!!”
However, Taylor did have support online with one fan labelling Serrano and her coach a “disgrace”.
“These interviews are a disgrace. Serrano warrior yes but no class and as for her trainer. A disgrace!! Zero class. Katie Taylor should never ever entertain these people again.”
Another fan commented: “People only think Serrano was robbed because the commentary team was so biased towards her against Taylor. Correct decision especially if you watch the fight and don't let the commentary sway you.”
“That’s absolutely disgraceful by Amanda Serrano’s coach saying that, and this biased commentary is laughable, completely disrespecting Katie Taylor. Unprofessional.”
