I'm A Celebrity's Sam Thompson rushed to doctor before flying to jungle as details revealed
Sam Thompson has revealed he went to the doctors prior to flying to Australia for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, which starts this weekend
Former TOWIE man Sam Thompson has admitted he went to a doctor prior to his new role on the I'm A Celebrity spin off show.
Sam will be part of the presenting team for I'm A Celebrity Unpacked, which he will host live from the camp Down Under. However, before he jetted off for his exciting new role, he revealed his request to a doctor.
As his schedule sees him record in UK time rather than the huge time difference in Australia, Sam asked docs for some sleeping pills. He revealed his request on his podcast Staying Relevant, which was released shortly after he made the long journey to the other side of the globe.
Speaking on the show, he said: "The timings are quite awkward because obviously we are live in UK time. So we go to bed at 4pm every day in Australia and wake up at midnight. Which is going to be wild."

Best pal and co-host, Pete Wicks - who is currently flying high in Strictly Come Dancing - confessed to Sam: "You don't cope well with change and what Sam said to me when he told me this last week is 'I've just been to the doctor and I've got 24 sleeping pills.'"
Sam saw the funny side of Pete's reveal and added he got the tablets "just in case". Pete went on: "That was the first thing you did, he literally came out of the meeting with ITV or off the phone and went straight to the doctor and said 'I need pills.'"
Sam will appear on the ITV spin-off alongside Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers. The new series of the hit jungle contest gets under way on Sunday, November 17, and the impressive lineup was revealed on Monday evening.
While most of the famous faces have now landed in Australia, including Coleen Rooney and GK Barry, Maura Higgins was spotted on a date night with Pete prior to her Blighty exit. It's said she "cried all night" on the outing as she prepared to leave him behind. The 33-year-old Love Island star has been romantically linked to The Only Way Is Essex Lothario Pete, 36, since last month. The pair were spotted out together on a romantic night out on Monday while the I'm A Celeb lineup was being revealed.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the Love Island beauty shared what her date night entailed as she told of her and Pete's evening of music - which left her overcome with emotion. The pair headed to the London Palladium theatre to watch 68-year-old Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi in his current UK tour.
