UFC star Conor McGregor returned to the High Court for a third day on Thursday as Nikita Hand, 35, originally from Drimnagh in Dublin, seeks damages in a civil case for an alleged assault she says she suffered at the hands of McGregor 36, and James Lawrence at the penthouse suite of the Beacon Hotel on February 9, 2018.
On the second day of proceedings on Wednesday, Ms Hand alleged that McGregor choked her three times before she gave up and he “raped” her.
Giving evidence to the High Court, she said that, as she was being attacked, she “froze and couldn’t move or breathe”. Ms Hand broke down several times as she gave evidence and sought a number of breaks.
Mr McGregor and his co-defendant, James Lawrence, of Rafter's Road, Drimnagh, who is also accused of assault, deny the allegations, saying what occurred was consensual.
