GAA club fixtures this weekend

RTE and TG4 have three live heavyweight games on a huge weekend of club football.

The action starts on RTE on Saturday night with Dublin holders Cuala making their Leinster debut after ending Kilmacud Crokes' bid for four county and provincial titles on the bounce.

There is a sense of opportunity knocking here for Naas, who have consistently struggled against Kilmacud in recent years, and also for the other big Leinster sides like St. Loman's, Mullingar.

After landing a Kildare four-in-a-row, Naas will be eyeing up a shot at provincial glory.

The following day (Sunday), TG4 open with a potential cracker as Corofin host Padraig Pearses at Tuam Stadium, with coverage beginning at 1pm.

Corofin were fancied to win Connacht last year, but Roscommon side St. Brigid’s delivered a huge display to knock them out.

Padraig Pearses - the 2021 Connacht champions - certainly won’t fear the three-in-a-row All-Ireland champions and back to back Galway winners.

Then at 3.25pm on TG4, surprise Derry winners, Newbridge take on Armagh’s Clann Éireann, who boast All Stars Barry McCambridge and Conor Turbitt, as well as another Armagh starter, Tiernan Kelly.

Newbridge are without Derry star Padraig McGrogan, but have the formidable Conor Doherty and his brother Mark.

After winning their first county title in 35 years and knocking out All-Ireland champions Glen, Newbridge will be oozing with confidence.

Meanwhile, streaming service Clubber will show all six Munster club championship matches from the weekend.

This includes the heavyweight encounter between holders Castlehaven and Kerry champions Dr. Crokes.

This one throws in on Sunday at 1.15pm at Dr. Crokes grounds in Killarney.

The other Munster senior football tie is the meeting of Clare champions Éire Og, Ennis and Limerick’s Adare.

As with their county hurling champions, Doon, who lost out to Ballygunner last weekend, Limerick GAA's scheduling means that Adare have just one week to prepare for their Munster opener.

Clubber also have a offering from Leinster, where they will stream two senior quarter-final football ties this Sunday.

They are the meetings of St. Mary’s, Ardee (Louth) and Carlow’s Rathvilly from Ardee (1.30pm) and surprise packets Tinahely’s (Wicklow) encounter with Tullamore (Offaly) at Aughrim (1.30pm).

The four Ulster quarter-finals are also down for decision.

They include Kilcoo (Down) versus Crosserlough (Cavan) at Newry on Saturday (6pm).

The other Ulster senior football ties are on Sunday. Cargin (Antrim) face Errigal Ciaran (Tyrone) at 1pm from Corrigan Park, while Erne Gaels (Fermanagh) meet Scotstown (Monaghan) at Brewster Park, 2.15pm

After their Fermanagh replay win over Enniskillen Gaels, Erne Gaels have just a week to get ready for their Ulster debut after winning a first county title in 43 years.

There is one other senior football tie where North London Shamrocks host Ballina (Mayo) in the Connacht quarter-final at Ruislip on Saturday (1.30pm).

Saturday on RTE
