Real reason Nicole Kidman shoved Salma Hayek revealed

Nicole Kidman 's "flashpoint" with Salma Hayek at the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week is down to Devil Wears Prada style 'status signals', an expert claims.
The A-Listers were filmed in an uncomfortable exchange in September, which saw Salma appearing to direct Nicole, before Nicole seemed to shove her before holding her hand up in a 'stop' gesture.
Salma, whose husband Francois-Henri Pinault is a CEO of the company that owns Balenciaga, could be seen initially posing for photographers with actress Nicole, who is an ambassador for the high-end brand.

But when she turns away from the cameras, her hair covering her face, Salma attempts to move her back to face the crowd, before Nicole hugs Katy Perry and leaves, with a few hostile looking words to Salma.
Now, body language expert Judi James has analysed what actually happened between the pair. The Mail reports: "Nicole appears to push the hand away, suggesting the mimed touch breached some kind of silent etiquette, as in a possible 'I'll choose when I go or where I move to'."
Judi explained: "Keeping your dignity and maintaining impeccable elegance while being jostled and made to wait for what can often be hours are necessary skills, and Nicole Kidman offers what looks like a masterclass here in protecting A-list parameters and status signals against all odds."
Dismissing rumours that there could be a history between the two, Judi is adamant it's just an "etiquette issue".
As Nicole walked away, it looked as though Salma said "Yes please - advice," to which Nicole appears to reply: "You don’t need it" and Hayek said "I do."
Onlookers who witnessed the moment have said they could sense the tension. One person reportedly claimed that Nicole told Salma: "Don't touch me." They also said that Katy was "embarrassed" in the moment, with another person there saying: "Oh god, you could cut the tension with a knife."
Fans took to social media to talk about the tense situation. One said: "I get that Salma was probably trying to direct her to pose for the cameras, but some people don’t like to be touched regardless of the situation, and you just gotta respect that," while another added: "Why is Nicole being so rude?"
Despite the awkward run in, Salma took to her Instagram page a few days later which an array of images from the event. One of them even featured Nicole but neither of them were smiling. Hayek captioned the photos: "Finally last night the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025… Balenciaga and Demna for a terrific show."
