Inside Gogglebox siblings Simon and Jane Minty's lives off screen - colourful home to normal jobs
Simon and Jane Minty have been firm favourites with Gogglebox viewers ever since they joined the cast three years ago, and fans love getting a sneak peek inside their home
When a fresh family joins the Gogglebox crew, viewers typically love to snoop at two main things - their snack selection and their home decor! This was certainly the case when siblings Simon and Jane Minty became part of the Channel 4 cast three years ago, and the duo are now firm favourites among fans, who adore Simon's remote control skills as much as their vibrant house.
While we get a decent glimpse of their cosy sofas on the show, their Instagram account offers an even better peek at their lives. Initially, the TV cameras were set up in Simon's old flat - showcasing his impressive book collection - but when he relocated, they opted to film at Jane's Surrey residence instead, reports OK!.
Although Jane's house boasts a smaller bookshelf in her front room, she mirrors Simon's penchant for plants and colour. Along with a few healthy-looking houseplants in the hallway and shelves behind, she often ensures there are some fresh flowers in the room for an extra burst of colour.

In terms of snacks, they've been spotted nibbling on oranges, pretzels, and grapes, all served on a platter in true Gogglebox's Malone family style. Off screen, Simon, 55, is a passionate disability campaigner, born with restricted growth. He's also the driving force behind Sminty Ltd consultancy, which aids companies in enhancing their recruitment and service for disabled individuals.
His impressive roster includes big names like the BBC, HSBC, and The Football Association. Last year, he excitedly announced his selection for the World Dwarf Games, and this year, he competed in the javelin and shot putt at the 31st National Dwarf Games event.
Sharing his experience on Instagram, he said: "Really enjoyed both and my fellow competitors were supportive and fun. Javelin is hard; it has to land tip end first. Shot putt more straight forward. Turns out a loud grunt as you throw will gain you a few extra centimetres. No medals this time but happy to have competed and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. #DSAmazing" Additionally, he's been settling into a new home, keeping his and Jane's 48.7K Instagram followers in the loop. In May, he posted a snapshot of his new place, surrounded by boxes, on their joint simonandjane_gogglebox account.
Meanwhile, Jane disclosed in 2022 that she's been working in a kitchen and has frequently posted snaps from her workplace on their shared Instagram account. She once uploaded a picture of herself covered in cheese sauce after a mishap with a hand mixer, captioning it: "He wears shiny shoes, smart suits and looks fab. Today I got tangled up in a fight with a hand whisk and a cheese sauce! Hair wash tonight! ".
Earlier this week, she shared some positive news with their followers about an unexpected visit from the Environmental Health Office. She wrote in the post: "We achieved the highest score of 5 with an added excellent. The only disappointment was he didn't have any stickers showing the 5 Rating, and we all love a sticker saying 'well done."
