Tommy Fury 's memoir, Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury, has finally been released - just two months after his heartbreaking split from Molly-Mae Hague.

The former Love Island star, 25, first announced that he had written his first book back in March. It was teased at the time: "Find out what my life is like juggling many identities: a professional boxer, TV star, mental health advocate, fiancé and father. Coming this October but available to preorder now."

However, since making the announcement earlier this year, a lot has changed in Tommy's life. In August, it was revealed that Tommy and Molly-Mae had called off their engagement.

The former couple - who met on Love Island in 2019 - were then faced with endless cheating allegations as Molly-Mae's fans turned on Tommy after being left convinced that the professional boxer had cheated on her just 18 months after the pair welcomed their daughter, Bambi.

Tommy has continued to deny the allegations, insisting that the truth will one day come out about the sad reason they had to go their separate ways. Tommy even devoted a new chapter to his book to his split with Molly-Mae, opening up about their relationship and how the blonde bombshell will always be his perfect woman.

Here, we take a look at the biggest bombshells from Tommy's debut memoir from his darkest times to his dreams of one day marrying Molly-Mae.

Dark times after Molly-Mae split

After Molly-Mae announced that she had ended her relationship with Tommy back in August, one month later, the professional boxer revealed that he had added an extra chapter into his memoir where he would go into detail about why the seemingly perfect couple split after five years together.

Tommy was accused of cheating on Molly-Mae - something which he vehemently denies - and he was even accused of sleeping with a Danish girl while on a lads' holiday in Macedonia. In his book, Tommy has opened up about how he felt as though he was 'thrown to the lions' when his split with Molly-Mae became public, while she was comforted and supported by her legion of millions of fans.

In the extra chapter, Tommy said that it wasn't fair to share the details of his split with Molly-Mae as he was not the only one involved in it. He said that his first instinct is to protect Molly and Bambi, and that they are his priority.

Tommy said that 'when the time is right' he potentially may talk about what has happened and the truth of their situation.

He went on to open up about how dark the past two months have been for him, admitting that he hasn't been able to eat or sleep properly due to the fact he is grieving the life he thought he would have with Molly. The former Love Island star wrote: "It has been without a doubt the worst few weeks of my life, following on from a very difficult six months due to my hand injury, surgery and recovery.

"The reality of separating from someone I love, and the grief that comes with that, stole my appetite and my sleep, and piled on the stress and anxiety in the time since it happened. I have been at rock bottom personally."

Tommy said that it was like being 'thrown to the lions' and that 'there are people who have feasted' on his heartbreak and turned it into something else.

Following their decision to separate, Tommy revealed that he and Molly told their families and close friends first, before putting out our own statements - but as soon as they dropped the news it went from something that they had 'carefully held between a close-knit group of people to being thrust into the unrelenting glare of the media spotlight'.

Difficulties living with Molly-Mae

Tommy also opened up about the difficulties that came with living with Molly-Mae when he was forced to pull out of his fight with Jake Paul after breaking two ribs. Tommy was mocked on social media for injuring himself before the long-awaited fight, and the professional boxer was left feeling numb and embarrassed that his injuries had stopped him from championing over the controversial YouTube star.

However, his love Molly-Mae was by his side and wanted to do everything she could to help Tommy recover - but his mindset was 'shot'. Tommy said that he felt himself slipping into a bad place and there was nothing that Molly-Mae could do to pull him out of it.

"I was in a state of shock. My whole world fell apart. I didn’t think things could get much worse, but once the news of the fight cancellation hit the press, everything kicked off," Tommy said.

He said that he received a torrent of online abuse, with keyboard warriors claiming he was ‘scared of a YouTuber’, ‘not a Fury’, ‘a fake fighter’, ‘embarrassing my family’ and much worse.

Tommy eventually was forced to come off of social media and he said that he rarely went out in public because he would get heckled in the street. When he did leave the house, people had no qualms about coming up to him and shouting abuse in his face. The star describes it as one of the worst periods of his life and he's surprised he didn't end up behind bars after lashing out at someone - thankfully he kept his aggression to himself.

Lonely pub visits to drink away the pain

Tommy went on to admit that it was hard for Molly-Mae to live with him during this stage as he struggled with down days and a low mood due to the fact he couldn't accept what had happened. The professional boxer admitted that he would go to lonely bars and drink his pain away - while Molly-Mae stayed at home.

"I would have my down days, but I had never felt like this before. It was a really dark few weeks, and I was not good to live with; Molly couldn’t console me. When I did go out, it was to bars nobody went to and I drank to dull the pain, not for fun," Tommy shared.

The former Love Island star revealed that he had no interest in looking after himself and that he knew he was spiralling, but he just didn’t care. Tommy said he was 'down on everything' and was even left thinking that being a sportsman was a s**t career option for him as it made him unhappy.

"It was the bleakest, toughest time I had experienced," Tommy said. He said that Molly-Mae noticed the change in him but didn’t know what to do because she had never seen him like that before. Tommy admitted that his mood affected Molly-Mae deeply and she was 'at a loss as to how to reach me'.

Tommy went on: "She was desperate to make it all OK. I know Molly was struggling to understand how the situation had unravelled and affected me so severely. I feel like everything had been taken away from me."

In the end, Tommy admitted that Molly-Mae's persistence helped to pull him out of his dark thoughts and got him back to feeling like himself again.

The former Love Island star said that he just wanted to sit in the house and look the window and indulge in all things that were bad for him including drinking and eating rubbish. Tommy admitted that his actions were hard for Molly-Mae to take, but she didn’t give up on him. Over the days and weeks that followed, Molly-Mae did her best to talk to Tommy every day about how he was feeling, and he eventually opened up to her.

Tommy said that he 'couldn’t access his emotions easily or admit that he was depressed', bu he did talk to Molly-Mae and it eventually began to alleviate how he was feeling. Tommy then shared a message with his fans and readers as he encourage anyone struggling with their mental health to tell someone and to ask for help.

In his memoir, Tommy has denied ever cheating on Molly-Mae and said that the real reason behind their split will come out some day.

Tommy insists that Molly-Mae is still his ‘dream girl’ and has vowed to ‘love her until my final breath’. At the time of their shock split, it was reported that it happened because Tommy had cheated. However, Tommy set the record straight ahead of his autobiography.

He said: "The truth will come out in time and when it does, I think a lot of people might regret their actions and unkind words. The whole world will I reckon. What the public think is going on isn’t what is going on. It’s not something I envisaged happening, but it didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s a thing that was there previously to all of this happening, but the only people who know what is going on in our relationship is me and Molly.”

Tommy's wedding dream with Molly-Mae

The professional boxer proposed to Molly-Mae in July 2023, and the pair were planning their dream wedding soon after. Heartbreakingly, Tommy had a surprise up his sleeve for Molly-Mae for their wedding day, but sadly, it looks like it will never come to fruition now following their split.

When Tommy embarked on a dance journey with fellow Love Island star Curtis Pritchard, who is also a professional dancer, he hoped that he could impress Molly-Mae on their wedding day with his moves and learned skills. In the three-part miniseries, professional boxer Tommy swapped his boxing gloves for dancing shoes to train for a ballroom competition, while professional dancer Curtis entered the boxing ring to train for the fight of his life. The Boxer & The Ballroom Dancer was a hit on ITV2 when it first aired - and Tommy had hoped that he could keep his skills for his wedding day with Molly-Mae.

In his book, he writes: "I am hopeful that some of what I learned won’t desert me in the future, particularly for Molly and my first dance at our wedding, although that may not be the best time to pull off a tango.”
