Exclusive: The Irish Mirror has confirmed that the woman is facing eight separate charges
A woman is facing trial for allegedly having sex with her own son, it has emerged.
The Irish Mirror has confirmed that the woman is facing eight separate charges – including engaging in sexual activity with the son, who is under 17. The woman, who lives in a county outside Dublin, has already been charged and is due to stand trial early next year.
We have confirmed that her husband, the child’s father, has also been charged with nine separate charges. If convicted, the pair face up to 14 years in prison for their alleged offences. Neither can be named for legal reasons.

The woman, who is in her late 30s, faces charges of defilement of a child under the age of 17. She is alleged to have engaged in a sexual act with the child on four separate occasions in January of this year. She further faces a charge of allowing a child in her care to be used for the production of child pornography.
The woman also faces a charge of taking or detaining or, or restricting the personal liberty of a child for the purpose of his or her sexual exploitation. She also faces two counts of child cruelty. All the offences are alleged to have taken place on a specific date in January.
The husband faces nine charges. He faces three charges of sexually assaulting the child. He is charged with one count of possessing child pornography in a mobile phone recording.
The man is also charged with one count of producing child pornography. He faces a charge of taking or detaining or, or restricting the personal liberty of a child for the purpose of his or her sexual exploitation.
The man, who is also in his 30s, faces a charge of using a child for sexual exploitation And the final two charges he face are counts of child cruelty. All the offences he has been charged with are alleged to have taken place on the same date in January of this year.
