Strictly Come Dancing favourite Pasha Kovalev revealed his deep sadness while talking about his bond with the departed Robin Windsor.

The ballroom expert, aged 44, paid a touching visit to Loose Women in July where he talked about his dear friend. In February this year, the dance world was sombre with the announcement of Robin's passing at 44. Burn The Floor, an esteemed Ballroom and Latin dance troupe co-founded by Robin, broke the heart-wrenching news.

Robin, who made a name for himself on BBC's Strictly from 2010 until 2013, had danced with various stars, such as entrepreneur Deborah Meaden and actress Lisa Riley. Pasha warmly recalled: "I think everyone loved Robin, anyone who ever met him loved him. He was a big sweetheart and he was helping anyone and everyone. I met Robin a long time ago, we were on the same production touring the world. Then we were reunited on Strictly. We did a lot of dances together."

Reflecting on the loss, Pasha confessed feeling a heartbreaking regret. He shared: "The news of his passing came as a huge shock to me and to all of his friends. When you hear about something like that, as a friend you start thinking 'could I have done something more? Could I have spent extra time seeing him, talking to him, send extra message?' Because of that, I think my first instinct was I wanted to cherish the time I had with Robin. Get all the friends together and speak about the good days and all that he loved."

Strictly returned to screens for its 2024 season last night and at the end of the launch show, pictures of former professional dancer Robin and the late Hairy Biker Dave Myers, who appeared as a contestant in 2013, came on the screen alongside a touching message, which read: "In loving memory of Dave Myers 1957-2024 and Robin Windsor 1979-2024."

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Oh the dedications to Dave and Robin at the end" alongside a series of crying face emojos. Another added: "Oh heck the Dave Myers and Robin Windsor tributes at the end took my breath away a bit."

A third person agreed: "Nice touch there at the end of #Strictly. Remembering Dave Myers and Robin Windsor." A fourth social media user said: "Touching tribute to Dave Meyers and Robin Windsor at the end of tonight's#StrictlyI enjoyed the whole launch show."
