Shamrock Rovers have had a second appeal rejected in the Dawson Devoy eligibility case.

Devoy played for Bohemians in their 1-0 FAI Cup second round win over Shamrock Rovers in July, in his first game back from MK Dons.

But Rovers believe the midfielder should have been suspended for it, having been sent off in a League Trophy game in England.

Devoy served the ban in Bohs’ next league game, but a subsequent Rovers appeal over the matter was rejected.

The Hoops then lodged a second appeal on August 14, but yesterday that was rejected by the Independent Appeal Committee of the FAI.

The reigning league champions are reviewing documentation from the case before deciding on their next steps.
