Gordon Ramsay breaks silence on daughter's engagement to Adam Peaty with touching note
Adam Peaty proposed to Gordon Ramsay's daughter Holly - and it appears the notoriously temperamental TV chef is only too happy to welcome the Olympic athlete into his family
Gordon Ramsay has broken his silence to congratulate his daughter, Holly, on getting engaged - and welcomed Adam Peaty into his family.
The 57-year-old TV chef is known for his fiery temper, but it seems his heart is full of love and joy over the fact his 24-year-old daughter Holly has said "Yes" to marrying Olympic hero Adam, 29. The couple have been dating since June last year - and Holly helped mend Adam's broken heart after he broke up with Eirianedd Munro in 2022, who is the mother of his son, George, aged three.
On Thursday, Adam and Holly proudly revealed they had become engaged - and the news has warmed Kitchen Nightmares star Gordon's old heart. Reacting to a social media post that his daughter composed about her happy news, he took time to commend the couple on their happy news, and send words of encouragement to his future son-in-law.

Gordon wrote: "Congratulations to you both! We’re over the moon and enjoy this moment!" He added: "Welcome to the family @adam_peaty" alongside a red heart emoji.
Holly revealed she is to get married in an Instagram post where she showed off her impressive yellow diamond engagement ring. She wrote in a gushing post: "I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now.
"I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you. Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife."
She added: "I promise to always be there with you and George, I’m so greatful to be in his life and I cannot wait for more. Everything is better with you. Everything has been better since you. Here’s to forever."
And Adam himself penned a lengthy message where he paid tribute to his wife-to-be. The Olympic gold winning athlete wrote: "I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace.
"You have been with me when I’ve been at my lowest and helped me understand myself to navigate my own darkness. You have also celebrated the highs which have been so many, as for the first time in my life, I’m happy with the man I’ve become. You came to church with me and joined the incredible community we have there without a question.
"Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. I can’t wait to be joined with them too. I’ve always believed that when two people are engaged and later married that we are no longer two people but we join as one and it’s the biggest privilege to share that with you."
He added: "Seeing you show the love you give to the most important person in my life, George, even from day one, there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day. I’m looking forward to our life together and the many challenges we’ll face. I promise to always love you with all my heart."
Adam also revealed he had been planning to pop the question since December last year - a whole six months after their romance if believed to have begun. He wrote in an Instagram Stories post: "Thank you Marcus from @pragnelljewellery over the last 10 months for finding and making the perfect yellow diamond ring. I trusted you with my vision and you delivered. It’s perfect."
