A billionaire who made history with the first private spacewalk has gushed that "Earth sure looks like a perfect world" after stepping out of his spacecraft and catching a glimpse of our planet.

Tech tycoon Jared Isaacman conducted several mobility tests in a cutting-edge spacesuit, becoming the first of the duo on board to venture into the cosmos. Mission leader Isaacman now joins an elite club of spacewalkers, previously an exclusive circle of professional astronauts from just twelve nations.

During a live broadcast beamed back to Earth, Isaacman was overheard exclaiming: "Back at home, we all have a lot of work to do. But from here, Earth sure looks like a perfect world." The SpaceX control centre in Hawthorne, California, was awash with jubilation and applause as Isaacman initially emerged from the spacecraft.

This landmark commercial spacewalk was the highlight of a five-day odyssey bankrolled by Isaacman himself and Elon Musk's trailblazing firm. Following a sequence of intricate manoeuvres, Isaacman re-entered the Dragon capsule, clearing the stage for mission expert Sarah Gillis to replicate the tasks and seal the hatch upon her own return to the cabin.

The entire Polaris Dawn crew donned SpaceX's latest spacewalking gear for their protection, with one of the mission's key objectives being to put these suits through their paces. Before they could embark on their spacewalks and open the hatch, the team had to patiently wait for their pod to depressurise.

The spacewalkers, who enjoyed roughly 15 minutes of extra-vehicular activity, sequentially entered back through the hatch, all the while tethered to their craft with only their feet inside, as they performed a sequence of stretches to evaluate the spacesuit's performance.

Mission pilot Scott "Kidd" Poteet, together with medical officer and mission specialist Anna Menon, remained seated, diligently keeping an eye on critical support systems during the entire endeavour. After an impressive one hour and 46 minutes, mission controllers at SpaceX's Hawthorne base in California declared the spacewalk complete.

Kate Tice, a commentator for SpaceX, remarked that the spacewalk seemed to pass "in the blink of an eye".
