With the National Television Awards just a few days away, it's reported that Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes are planning to skip the star-studded event to steer clear of an uncomfortable reunion.

Former This Morning hosts Ruth and Eamonn announced their shock divorce in May, after 14 years of marriage and 27 years as a couple. While Ruth has been navigating life after separating from her ex, Eamonn, 64, has since been linked with 42-year-old divorcee Katie Alexander, a relationship counsellor.

However, they aren’t the only ones giving the glittering event a miss. It’s also been reported that Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have chosen to stay away to avoid a potential awkward run-in. The Love Island couple recently ended their five-year relationship last month.

Although they were all invited, it’s been said that they have opted not to attend. "Organisers of the bash very much wanted Eamonn, Ruth, Molly, and Tommy to attend; they are well-loved," a source told The Daily Express. "But they aren't nominated and they haven't taken up invites to be in boxes to watch the show."

They added: "Those around them think that they want to avoid any run-ins or unwanted attention at all costs. The break-ups are still very raw and painful. The last thing they want is to be asked about it, so it's easier to stay at home."

Eamonn and Ruth are regulars at the NTAs, and Tommy and Molly-Mae were seen together on the red carpet in 2020. Ruth and Eamonn recently announced they’re divorcing. They made it official in May, with a spokesperson saying, "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes are separating and going through the divorce process." The ex-couple were married for 14 years and together for 22. They have a son, Jack, who was born in 2002.

Last month it was revealed that Eamonn, 64, had started dating relationship counsellor Katie, following his split. Katie was married to George Alexander, 53, between 2010 and 2022, with the couple still an item when Katie began her friendship with GB News host Eamonn.

Ruth was said to be "devastated" when she found messages on his laptop between him and another woman. Although there is no suggestion of any overlap in terms of a romantic relationship, Eamonn and Katie are believed to be an item now.

The pair began speaking on Twitter, with businessman George recalling what happened at the time to the Sun.

He told the paper: "She was not swooning over him like he was George Clooney. But she liked being on social media and one day she said she’d had a reply from him. She’d commented on one of his posts (on social media) and Eamonn got in touch. I must admit I laughed it off."
