Man arrested, woman in serious condition following assault in Dublin
A man in his 40s is being questioned at a Garda station in North Dublin after a woman was found with serious injuries at a residence in the early hours of this morning
A woman aged in her 30s is in serious condition after she was assaulted at a residence in Dublin during the early hours of this morning. A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Gardaí responded to reports of an assault at a property in Clonshaugh, Dublin 17 shortly after 12:25am, where the woman was found with serious injuries. She was rushed from the scene to Beaumont Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
A man in his 40s was subsequently arrested and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a Garda station in North Dublin. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said investigations were ongoing.
“Gardaí in Coolock are investigating all the circumstances in relation to a serious assault at a domestic residence in Clonshaugh, Dublin 17 in the early hours of this morning Saturday 7th September, 2024,” they said.
“Shortly after 00.25am, gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of an assault at a residential property in Clonshaugh, Dublin 17. A woman, aged in her 30s was found with serious injuries and removed from the scene to Beaumont Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.
“In a follow up search a man, aged in his 40s was arrested this morning and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in North Dublin.”
