Man arrested after taxi driver robbed at knifepoint in Dublin
A sum of cash was stolen during the terrifying incident, and the suspect fled the scene on foot
A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was threatened at knifepoint and robbed in Dublin.
The shocking incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning at around 1.30am in the Poppintree area of north Dublin.
Gardaí were called to the scene after they received a report that a taxi driver had been threatened at knifepoint by a passenger in his car.

A sum of cash was stolen, and the suspect fled on foot. The driver, a man in his 40s, was not physically harmed during the incident.
In a follow-up operation by local uniformed Gardaí, supported by the Armed Support Unit (ASU), a man in his 20s was arrested at a residence in the Ballymun area.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region.
Gardai say that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
