Prince Harry is set to embark on a solo trip to New York City in September, following his successful four-day tour of Colombia with wife Meghan Markle.

The Duke's visit to the Big Apple was confirmed by a spokesperson on August 27, revealing that he will be attending the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week.

Harry's visit coincides with two significant events; Climate Week, which runs from September 22 to September 29, and High-level Week, taking place from September 23 to September 27.

During his time in New York, the 39-year-old will be advancing several of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives. His engagements will include African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst, according to the spokesperson.

In addition, Harry will be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the non-profit organisation he co-founded with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.

Despite having undertaken two high-profile trips this year with Meghan, to Nigeria in May and Colombia earlier this month, Harry's upcoming journey will be a solo venture, focusing on causes close to his heart, reports the Express.

Interestingly, his trip will coincide with another major event in the city - Prince William's Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, scheduled for September 24.

William, 42, initiated the competition back in 2020 with the primary aim of encouraging impactful and sustainable solutions to some of the most pressing environmental issues plaguing our planet, including conservation, deforestation, and climate change.

As part of this annual contest, the Prince intends to distribute £1m (€1.18m) Earthshot Prizes across five categories each year until 2030.

While it remains uncertain whether William will be present at the summit in person, he did attend last year's event. The late September date for this year's summit also coincides with the return of his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to school after their lengthy summer holiday.

Harry's impending return to New York signifies a significant moment for him, marking his first visit to the city since October 2023, following his attendance at The Archewell Foundation Parents' Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age last year.

This crucial summit gathered parents who had suffered heartbreaking losses linked to their child's use of social media. The Duke and Duchess engaged in a poignant on-stage discussion alongside Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, moderated by Carson Daly.

Demonstrating their commitment to safeguarding children online, the couple launched a new initiative earlier this year related to that summit. They announced the creation of The Parents Network just before Meghan celebrated her 43rd birthday at the beginning of the month.
